Reforming the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network
Leidos and CareDx will combine their strengths to conduct reforms on the OPTN to bolster its service to over 100,000 people on the national organ transplant waitlist. CareDx will utilize its knowledge of the organ transplant ecosystem while Leidos will leverage its expertise in technology, health systems and large-scale electronic health record implementations for the multi-layered project.
The two companies are tasked with designing and implementing enhancements to all stages of the organ transplant process. This includes developing innovations, identifying actionable plans and streamlining operations.
Liz Porter, president of the health and civil sector at Leidos, remarking on the collaboration with CareDx stated, “Together, we are uniquely positioned to create transformative solutions that are designed to improve the lives of patients and their families, while supporting the critical reforms needed to modernize the OPTN.”
John Hanna, president and CEO of CareDx, added, “Working with Leidos allows us to combine our transplant expertise and innovative digital solutions to address the most pressing challenges in organ transplantation.”
