Verizon Business will install 5G and provide 4G LTE network upgrades at 35 U.S. Air Force bases located throughout the country under the military branch’s Offer to Lease, or OTL, program.
The company said Tuesday it will provide small cells, C-Band carrier adds, new macro builds and other network enhancements to deliver increased bandwidth, lower latency and higher speeds to military personnel, their families and the surrounding community.
“This is Verizon’s 7th OTL win out of 8 attempts, which serves as a testament to the trust the U.S. Air Force has in the strength and speed of our network, as well as the quality of the professional and managed services expertise they gain from our people,” said Maggie Hallbach, senior vice president of Verizon Public Sector and a two-time Wash100 awardee.
The latest award expands the company’s 5G portfolio with the Department of Defense and the federal government.
Verizon is providing 5G and other wireless network support services across 72 USAF installations through the OTL program.
