Maxar Intelligence is one of the 10 vendors that secured a spot on a five-year, $290 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support a National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency program aimed at enhancing the agency’s Earth monitoring capabilities.

Under the Luno A contract, Maxar said Monday it will leverage its computer vision models to provide NGA with advanced geospatial insights and automated object detection capabilities in monitoring vehicles, aircraft, vessels and infrastructure as well as analyzing patterns of life, economic indicators and changes to critical facilities and terrain.

The company has already begun supporting NGA analysts and operators to detect Earth changes and respond effectively to global developments.

Susanne Hake, general manager of Maxar’s U.S. government business, said, “Our very-high resolution imagery and massive data library give us a unique edge to meet Luno A’s need for fast, accurate insights.”

“As we continue launching more WorldView Legion satellites, we’ll have significantly more 30 cm-class imaging capacity and increased revisits, providing us with an even deeper pool of exquisite data that can fuel more actionable insights in near real-time,” Hake added.
