Sigma Defense Systems has opened a new facility in Lexington Park, Maryland, to expand capabilities in cybersecurity architecture, software development and airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance for the Department of Defense.

The Lexington site will also be used for tests aimed at enhancing DevSecOps, CJADC2 and C5ISR delivery for the DOD, the company said Monday.

The facility will serve Naval Air Station Patuxent River customers in the state, including the NAVAIR Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft program office, Unmanned Carrier Aviation program office and programs supporting the P-8A Poseidon, MQ-4C Triton and MQ-25 Stingray aircraft.

Ed Anderson, executive vice president of innovative mission solutions at Sigma, commented, “This office allows us to grow our customer intimacy by providing the resources to be physically present. We are excited to expand and grow our relationship with NAVAIR and create a better customer experience.”
