Sierra Nevada Corporation has named Jim Hanley as vice president of its strategic initiatives. Hanley, who brings to the role nearly 3 decades of defense industry experience, announced the appointment on LinkedIn.
New VP’s Professional Experience
The new appointee most recently served at ManTech, where he stayed for more than 16 years and held various leadership positions, such as VP, division manager and program manager.
Earlier, Hanley was a colonel at the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and oversaw the training, readiness and mission accomplishment of troops. As chief of the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron, he led more than 500 personnel across diverse locations.
The new VP was also an FA-18 weapon systems officer at the USMC, where he served as an instructor with over 1,900 flight hours in the combat plane.
Academic Credentials
Hanley, a Navy Top Gun graduate, earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Pennsylvania State University and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.
