General Dynamics Information Technology is now part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Artificial Intelligence Safety Consortium.
GDIT said Friday that its contributions as a member of the consortium include supporting the development of new standards that address AI risks, providing technical expertise to support the development, deployment, transparency and evaluation of AI technologies, and assessing large language models and analyzing training data using the Luna AI Digital Accelerator.
The company has been delivering AI-powered technologies designed to enhance the federal government’s mission-critical operations for decades. Such offerings involve the deployment of machine learning models for fraud detection in healthcare, the development of advanced data analytics for aviation safety and AI implementation to advance national security and intelligence missions.
“For more than two decades, we have harnessed this technology to advance agencies’ missions responsibly,” said Ben Gianni, GDIT’s senior vice president and chief technology officer. “We look forward to drawing on this experience and partnering with NIST and other consortium members to advance its goals.”
