The State Department has cleared Romania’s request to purchase AN/MPQ-64 F1 Sentinel radar systems as part of a $110 million foreign military sales agreement.
The deal also includes various related equipment, including encryption devices, global positioning system receivers, support equipment, classified software, command and control systems, training, spare parts and technical support services, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.
RTX will be the principal contractor for the sale.
DSCA noted the proposed sale will enhance Romania’s ability to address current and future threats, aligning with U.S. foreign policy to strengthen the security of a NATO ally.
