Saab has received a contract to provide near real-time artificial intelligence and machine learning models for the Department of Defense and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to enhance the accuracy and flexibility of live missions and human analysis.
The company said Thursday the award supports the Maven Program, a DOD initiative that leverages AI to identify personnel and equipment, a task previously performed by human analysts.
Erik Smith, president and CEO of Saab’s U.S. division, said, “We are thrilled to be the first new computer vision vendor brought on for the Maven Program and this work will enable Saab to move at pace to solve global challenges and deliver needed capabilities to our customers.”
Saab’s new technology accelerator, Skapa, will oversee the work under the contract.
