The U.S. Navy has awarded L3Harris Technologies a $142 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for submarine photonics mast repair services and parts procurement support.
Under the agreement, the company will provide depot-level repair, maintenance and upgrade support services for photonics mast variants and integrated submarine imaging system augmented systems, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Work will be carried out in Northampton, Massachusetts, and is expected to be completed by September 2029.
Immediately after finalizing the agreement, the government obligated $7.7 million on the initial task order, $3.5 million of which will expire by the end of the fiscal year 2024.
The contract, which has a five-year ordering period, was not competitively procured as the government previously determined that L3Harris is the sole responsible source to satisfy agency requirements.
Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport is the contracting activity.
