Cubic’s defense division has received an initial order from the U.S. Air Force to produce a system designed to enhance the operational readiness of the military service.
The company said Monday the upgrade to the encrypted Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation system will enable fourth-generation aircraft to train seamlessly alongside fifth-generation aircraft.
Paul Averna, vice president and general manager of advanced training solutions at Cubic Defense, commented, “ACMI delivers ‘Truth in Training,’ allowing aircrew to perform mission exercises from anywhere while generating ultra-precise information on their performance.”
The order follows the completion of Cubic Defense’s System Security Upgrade contract, which included the first production order for SSU kits. The kits provide encryption for sensitive maneuvering data for the Air Force’s P5 pod fleet.
