Collins Aerospace has secured a $44.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Army for continued engineering, production and maintenance support of the second-generation Mounted Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing System.

Under the contract modification, the company will perform work at its Cedar Rapids facility in Iowa, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The contract, which was originally awarded in May, indicates that the project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 30, 2025.

Following the modification, the Army obligated the full contract amount from its fiscal 2024 other procurements.

The Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland is the contracting activity.

The MAPS Gen II system provides U.S. warfighters with increased protection against evolving GPS threats to support multi-domain operations.

The assured positioning, navigation and timing solution employs Collin’s NavHub-100 navigation system and Multi-Sensor Antenna System-100 to maintain a high level of reliability and address the threats posed by existing and upcoming technologies.
