Matt Thompson has been appointed chief revenue officer at Socure, where he previously served as senior vice president and general manager of public sector.
Thompson will now be responsible for driving Socure’s efforts to strengthen its position in government and other core businesses and to venture into new vertical markets, the developer of artificial intelligence-powered platform for digital identity verification, sanctions screening and fraud prevention said Thursday.
He will also handle company operations related to revenue generation and customer problem-solving support across the commercial and government sectors. In his previous role, Thompson helped Socure expand its client base to more than 30 federal and state government agencies and several higher education institutions.
Prior to joining Socure in 2021, Thompson was senior vice president of civil identity for North America at IDEMIA. He served as senior director of identity services at Capital One before that.
Thompson also worked as director and audit committee chair at the U.S. Veterans Initiative. He co-founded and was president of ID.me, a company specializing in digital identity verification.
A U.S. Army veteran, Thompson was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan four times during his 10 years of service in the military.
“Matt’s leadership at Socure to date has been transformative. He has leveraged his vast experience and relationships to build and scale our public sector operations in an incredibly short period of time,” Johnny Ayers, founder and CEO of Socure, said of the new CRO.
Thompson will report directly to Ayers.
