Artificial intelligence technology company Veritone has appointed former CIA Chief Technology Officer Gus Hunt as an adviser to its public sector division.
Veritone said Thursday that, in his new role, Hunt will work to provide counsel concerning the development and deployment of the company’s public sector AI offerings as well as the company’s cybersecurity strategy in support of public sector customers.
Hunt had served in the CIA for nearly three decades. Afterward he joined Accenture, where he took responsibility for cybersecurity consulting services for federal clients.
At present, Hunt serves as CEO of Hunt Technologies, which he also founded. The company offers consulting services with a focus on cloud, IT planning, big data analytics and cyber and data security.
Regarding his appointment as Veritone adviser, Hunt said, “AI is increasingly vital to the public sector, enhancing capabilities in areas like national security, law enforcement and public services, which is one of the many reasons I welcome the opportunity to work alongside Veritone’s executive team in this new advisory role.”
