Pranay Ahlawat has been appointed as the inaugural chief technology and artificial intelligence officer, or CTAIO, of Commvault.
In his new role, Ahlawat will spearhead Commvault’s product development lifecycle and enhance cybersecurity through leveraging AI technologies, the Tinton Falls, New Jersey-based company announced Tuesday.
Rajiv Kottomtharayil, chief product officer of Commvault, said, “Pranay brings a wealth of industry expertise on how AI is evolving and revolutionizing business operations.”
Before joining Commvault, Ahlawat served in numerous leadership roles at Boston Consulting Group, including associate director of enterprise software and cloud, where he oversaw software-as-a-service entities. He also led worldwide product development at BCG.
Ahlawat said today’s cyber threats require new systems, which he looks forward to helping produce at Commvault.
“Organizations today are facing unprecedented levels of cyber threats and attacks and require innovative solutions that can help them stay ahead of bad actors and get the most value out of their data,” Ahlawat said.
“I’m thrilled to join Commvault and help build the next generation of cyber resilience solutions that address customers’ most critical security challenges,” he added.
Ahlawat will report to Kottomtharayil regarding his new position as CTAIO.
