Thomas Modly, former acting secretary of the U.S. Navy, joined Tim Dunnigan as the newest members of the Draganfly board of directors.

The aircraft manufacturing company said Thursday Modly, who also served as the 33rd undersecretary of the Navy, brings years of leadership experience and business operations knowhow to Draganfly. The former Navy leader spearheaded efforts to modernize a fleet of aircraft carriers.

A graduate of Harvard Business School and Georgetown University, Modly also championed advanced education and instilled a culture of continuous learning in the Navy and Marine Corps.

Dunnigan, on the other hand, previously served as a member of Draganfly’s board of advisors. A serial entrepreneur, the 22-year Army veteran has a number of companies under his name. Aside from being the CEO of MMS Productions, Dunnigan is also presently involved with CaptureTec and I’m a Hero Too Foundation. Other ventures he founded include Innovalearn and Talon Aerolytics.

Draganfly CEO Cameron Chell, highlighted the new board members’ military leadership along with their expertise in technology innovation and strategic business operations as the driving forces in their appointment.

“Thomas’s strategic leadership within the Navy and Tim’s extensive background in defense technology integration will provide us with unique insights and guidance as we expand our footprint in the UAV industry,” said Chell.
