Lockheed Martin will continue developing and maintaining the Missile Defense Agency’s objective simulation framework modeling and simulation system under a $282.8 million contract extension.

The Department of Defense said Thursday the award ensures the delivery of required capability increments and supports the execution of the MDA’s integrated master test plan, which includes ground and flight tests, warfighter training and combatant command exercises.

Previously, the company received a $240 million contract to assist the agency in developing and sustaining a modular objective simulation framework for ballistic missile defense systems.

The new contract extends the work period from April 15, 2024, to Oct.15, 2026, and includes two 12-month and one six-month option.

Lockheed will continue to work in Huntsville, Alabama.
