Discussions are in progress for a new investment into Anduril Industries that could result in the defense sector startup being valued at $14 billion in total, including previous funding, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Unnamed sources have revealed that Anduril seeks to raise $1.5 billion in the funding round, which is set to be co-led by Founders Fund and Sands Capital.
This, despite $5 billion worth of demand from investors.
The new funding will be used for research and development, manufacturing and acquisitions, the sources say.
Venture capitalist interest in Anduril has increased since the company’s selection by the U.S. Air Force for continued work on the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program.
The CCA aims to test and deploy autonomous aircraft and develop teaming concepts with manned aircraft, Airforce Technology reports.
