L3Harris Technologies has received a $34 million sole-source contract from the U.S. Air Force to support modernization work on the AN/ALQ-172 Countermeasures program.

The Department of Defense said Friday the company will perform work at its facility in Clifton, New Jersey, through Sept. 8, 2027.

AN/ALQ-172 is a self-protection integrated radio frequency subsystem designed to defend B-52 bombers from radar-directed threats.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Electronic Warfare Contracting Branch at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia will obligate the full contract amount using research, development, test and evaluation funds for fiscal year 2024.
