This marks her first time receiving the highly coveted award in the GovCon space, joining the annual list of the 100 most influential and impactful leaders who have contributed to the growth of the federal government marketplace.
“Shubhi is truly a GovCon industry innovator, disruptor and entrepreneur whose passion for data and technology not only continues to elevate Raft’s position in the competitive market but also makes her a clear Wash100 winner. Over the past six years, Shubhi’s drive, determination and hunger to win key contracts has brought Raft to the forefront of the defense technology landscape. Her gumption and vision have landed her a spot on our Wash100 list for the first time,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.
Building on her 15 years of data and technology industry experience, Mishra founded Raft in 2018 and transformed the Reston, Virginia-based technology consulting firm into an established presence in the defense contracting industry.
“Creating and leading Raft is an honor, and this recognition also honors the team driving the future of defense. We serve some of the public-sector leaders on Wash100, who also believe in our vision to push the limits of engineering for government and build the intelligent data layers for all components of CJADC2 in the coming years. This honor reaffirms our dedication to pushing boundaries, taking leaps, and finding greatness in the uncharted territories of possibility,” Mishra commented on her Wash100 win.
Raft has won significant contracts under Mishra’s leadership, including a spot on a potential five-year, $900 million multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide commercial data software products and services to help the U.S. Space Force address its mission requirements.
The company also holds a position on a potential $200 million contract from the U.S. Navy to develop, integrate, enhance and update software platforms for the Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence. Raft is among the 11 small businesses that serve as contractors on the IDIQ, which focuses on the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and other data analytics approaches to support C4I PEO software programs.
In early 2023, Raft secured a prime contract to help the U.S. Space Force Defensive Cyber Operations for Space Systems Command develop new features and update its Manticore and Kraken suites of software tools.
“Raft is proud to work alongside the Space Force to leverage our non-traditional outcome-based approach to building scalable software solutions that delivers real impact and enables the mission of DCO-S,” said Mishra.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Detachment 12, or Kessel Run, awarded Raft a $100 million contract to support the AFLCMC division’s product management, discovery, design and engineering efforts.
Commenting on the contract win, Mishra said the company is thrilled to support Kessel Run’s operational and wing command and control product lines to enable air and all-domain C2 operations for warfighters.
The Air Force has tapped Raft to establish a software factory for cyber operations using the cloud-based Platform One system. The software factory will serve as the joint development environment for U.S. Cyber Command’s Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture initiative.
The digital consulting firm also helps the Air Force design, develop and integrate a communication broker for the cloud-based Advanced Battle Management System, the service branch’s contribution to the Department of Defense’s Joint All Domain Command and Control initiative.
“Our team’s data engineering expertise and experience, coupled with our commitment to being at the tip of the spear for innovation in data and AI, has positioned us as the ideal partner to build the data backbone for ABMS,” Mishra said.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Shubhi Mishra and the entire Raft team for their selection to the 2024 edition of the Wash100 Award.
