Firestorm Labs, a maker of modular unmanned aerial vehicles and an expeditionary additive manufacturing cell, raised $12.5 million from its latest funding activity.
Lockheed Martin Ventures and other active defense investors provided the seed investment capital, Firestorm said Thursday.
The San Diego-based startup will use the funds to scale its team and production to meet customers’ demand. The company already has a number of contracts with the Department of Defense.
Dan Magy, CEO of Firestorm, said, “Firestorm is excited to announce this latest round of funding that will propel the company forward to shape the rapidly evolving needs of a UAS-dominated battlefield and a defense industrial base ripe for revolutionary manufacturing models.”
