The Department of Transportation is seeking information from providers of cloud services that could support the operational mission of the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to a sources sought notice posted Monday on SAM.gov, cloud services will be used in FAA’s mission support operating environment, research and development operating environment, mission essential operating environment and mission critical operating environment.
With the current FAA Cloud Services contract expected to be completed by August 25, 2025, the agency is conducting a market research to determine the best acquisition approach for the follow-on effort.
General Dynamics‘ information technology is the incumbent contractor. It provides cloud services under a potential 10-year, $314.9 million sole-source contract.
For FAA Cloud Services 2.0, the agency is considering awards to multiple cloud service providers for CSP services, infrastructure as a service and platform as a service. The contract’s period of performance is projected to be five years.
Responses to the request for information are due April 9.
