Gregory Fortier was appointed senior vice president of the Army business group at Science Applications International Corp., where he previously worked as a VP for over two years.
He announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post published Friday.
According to his profile on the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County website, Fortier joined SAIC as vice president of its fires, aviation and missile defense business portfolio responsible for leading more than 1,800 employees and driving strategy, growth and program execution.
Fortier was with the U.S. Army for over 25 years before joining the industry. His military service includes time holding various command and staff designations, including two combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The former Army aviator also worked as project manager for cargo helicopters and the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft.
The executive move aligns with SAIC’s reorganization that was announced in December 2023. The realignment, which took effect on Feb. 3, saw the company’s operations divided into five business groups – Army, Navy, Air Force and combatant commands, space and intelligence and civilian.
