General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business has secured a one-year, $43.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee order from the U.S. Navy under a previously issued basic ordering agreement to deliver a range of MQ-9A drone support services for the Marine Corps.
The Department of Defense said Thursday GA-ASI will provide engineering, logistics support, capability development and sustainment services in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Unmanned Aircraft System Expeditionary/Medium Altitude Long Endurance MQ-9A.
At the time of the award, approximately $17.5 million will be initially obligated from the Navy’s fiscal 2024 operations and maintenance as well as aircraft procurement funds.
GA-ASI is scheduled to work through February 2025 across various locations, with the majority, or 42 percent, of work to take place in California. Other locations include Arizona, Hawaii, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
