CGI Federal has booked a potential 10-year, $69.9 million task order from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs to continue offering consular services in five nations across the Asia Pacific region.

Under the contract, CGI will extend its provision of on-site processing functions for consular services in Australia, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea by implementing an upgraded version of its Atlas360 product, the Fairfax, Virginia-based enterprise announced on Tuesday.

Stephanie Mango, president of CGI Federal and a two-time Wash100 Award recipient, said the company is proud to expand its relationship with its State Department customer in the region with the return on investment-led delivery of technology that was “grown from a close partnership” built over three decades.

“As applicant and agency needs evolve, CGI is committed to delivering enhanced solutions to satisfy the mission critical needs of U.S. embassies and consulates,” Mango stated.

“In supporting the Bureau’s operations in the Pacific for more than a decade, we will continue to bring insights informed by hindsight to facilitate consular operations that enable security, travel, commerce and diplomacy,” said Lacy Perry, senior vice president of consulting-delivery at CGI.

CGI’s Atlas360 offering uses artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing technologies to boost efficiency, effectiveness and security throughout the visa application process.

This award was issued as part of the Global Support Strategy for Overseas Consular Support Services 2.0 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. To meet the specific needs of the IDIQ, CGI revamped Atlas360 with a real-time, interactive chat and email service to give applicants information in their language of choice and with English language nuances.

Currently, CGI helps process more than 15 million U.S. passports and over 4 million visas in 70 nations annually. GSS services are provided across 93 posts, which widens access to visa information that promotes secure international travel.
