Viasat will continue manufacturing VM300-M cards and delivering the shipboard application components to the U.S. Navy under a new modification that increased the value of the existing contract to $57.5 million.

The Department of Defense said Friday the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has an ordering period until 2026 and the first delivery order is for 79 VM300-M cards and associated operations and maintenance services.

In 2016, Viasat was awarded a $48.3 million IDIQ to help sustain and modernize the channel controllers and user terminals of the Joint Ultra-High Frequency Military Satellite Communications Network Integrated Control System through the updated National Security Agency-certified VM300M cards.

The cards are integrated into RT-1828, RT-1829, RT-1830 and DAMA Orderwire Channel Controller Trainer/Simulators products. Shipboard UHF satcom terminals provide the Navy with access and coverage in severely degraded weather conditions.

Under the contract modification, Viasat will perform work in San Diego, California.
