CISA, Mitre Support Industrial Control System Cybersecurity With Open Source Tool; Eric Goldstein Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Mitre has worked with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to develop an extension of the nonprofit research organization’s automated adversary emulation platform to help industrial control system operators defend operational technology against cyber threats.

The partnership offers an initial set of open source modules to the Caldera for OT platform through the Github code hosting service, Mitre said Tuesday.

Caldera is based on the Adversarial Tactics, Techniques and Common Knowledge framework – also known as ATT&CK – and supports factory and security acceptance testing for OT security professionals.

“Continued cyber threats to OT systems require a concerted focus on supporting the critical infrastructure community with actionable tools and resources,” remarked Eric Goldstein, executive assistant director for cybersecurity at CISA.

Goldstein added the agency collaborates with the Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute to create critical infrastructure protection measures.

Mitre operates HSSEDI, a federally funded research and development center, for the Department of Homeland Security and CISA.
