Mercury Systems has supplied the final radar processing hardware that Raytheon, an RTX business, will integrate into an initial production batch of Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor systems for the U.S. Army.

More than 160 processors have been delivered to support the first six sensors under a proof of manufacturing contract between the two companies, Mercury said Wednesday.

Raytheon is manufacturing LTAMDS representative units under a $384 million other transaction agreement awarded in 2019.

Andover, Massachussetts-based Mercury built an electronics suite composed of radar processing, beamforming, ethernet switching and antenna amplifier systems for the program.

The LTAMDS is an active electronically scanned array radar designed to provide soldiers a 360-degree battlespace coverage and intended to operate with the service branch’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense network.
