Lockheed Martin has received a $60.5 million firm-fixed-price contract to produce an electromagnetic warfare system designed to enhance the U.S. Army’s airborne combat capabilities.

Services related to the AN/APR-48B Modernized-Radar Frequency Interferometer will also be provided under the award, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The AN/APR-48B system is designed to acquire targets for the fire control radar in the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter. It is capable of detecting radar-based anti-air threats and serves as an aircraft survivability equipment system controller.

To support production of the system, Lockheed is scheduled to work in Owego, New York through Oct. 31, 2026.

Alabama-based Army Contracting Command is the contracting activity and conducted an online procurement for the contract with one offer received.

The full amount of the award was sourced from fiscal 2023 Defense Production Act Purchases funds.
