IBM Secures FedRAMP Authorization for Federal HR Shared Services Tool

IBM has received authorization under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer its cloud-based human capital management platform to government customers.

IBM Federal HR Cloud is a shared service tool designed to support core human resources management functions such as payroll, time entry and performance management and benefits administration, the company said Wednesday.

With the FedRAMP authorization, federal HR departments will have access to IBM Federal HR Cloud and its new features and applications such as artificial intelligence and manager and employee self-service.

The platform has supported over 500,000 employees across five federal agencies since its launch in 2013.

“Technology-enabled shared services delivery can help more federal agencies effectively and efficiently address many of their most pressing HR-related challenges including limited budgets, loss of skilled HR workers and lagging customer service,” said Susan Wedge, managing partner for the U.S. public and federal market at IBM Consulting.
