The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health has released a broad agency announcement for a program that seeks to transform innovations from other domains into health care platforms that can be scaled to larger application areas.
The Scaling Health Applications Research for Everyone program calls for interested stakeholders to demonstrate technical feasibility and develop a research and development plan for a prototype that adapts existing technology to the physiological and psychosocial considerations of pediatric and geriatric populations or health-related systems, according to a solicitation notice published Friday.
The selected vendor will build a prototype or pilot program that transforms existing government-funded technology to the specific needs of new demographics or health infrastructure, create a plan to commercialize or scale the prototype, establish a collaborative framework with relevant stakeholders and perform evaluation and quality improvement activities to ensure the technology meets the needs of the target populations.
Deliverables under the SHARE program may include a feasibility study report for various populations, prototype development plan, stakeholder engagement strategy and an ongoing evaluation and quality improvement plan.
Proposals are due Sept. 7.
