LMI Books 2-Year DLA Contract for Supply Chain R&D Support; Jon Baba Quoted

LMI has received a two-year contract to assist the Defense Logistics Agency in research and development efforts under its Military Unique Sustainment Technology Program.

The company said Tuesday it will help the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textile team enhance its C&T supply chain.

MUST is a DLA Troop Support C&T modernization effort aimed at developing combat gears through improved manufacturing and logistics.

Under the $3.2 million award, R&D activities will focus on increasing accessibility and visibility of requirements data, improving product quality, enabling easier updates to technical data, shortening lead times and reducing inventory stockouts.

“With nearly 30 years of support to DLA’s R&D programs, we are thrilled to further LMI’s extensive experience in this field to address the complexities of the DLA Troop Support C&T supply chain,” said Jon Baba, senior vice president of defense market at LMI.
