The U.S. Army awarded Lockheed Martin‘s missiles and fire control business a $23 million contract to provide engineering services for a common ignition safety device for the PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 missile segment.
The cost-plus-incentive-fee contract is expected to be performed in Grand Prairie, Texas, until April 28, 2025, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control developed and produced the PAC-3 missile segment. Under the terms of the new contract, the company will integrate and qualify the CISD into the weapon system.
The project is funded through the service branch’s fiscal 2023 missile procurement funds, as well as foreign military sales from Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Sweden.
The contracting activity is the Army Contracting Command in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
