The State Department has approved a potential $110 million foreign military sale of Lockheed Martin-built missile launchers and related equipment to the Dutch government.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday the Netherlands’ FMS request includes eight Baseline VII strike-length modules of the MK 41 Vertical Launch System, software, spare parts, test and support equipment, training, technical documentation, logistics and program support services.
According to DSCA, the Dutch naval force intends to use the modules to equip a new ship class with Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile Block 2 and SM-2 weapons.
If implemented, the deal will not require the deployment of additional contractor and government representatives to the European country.
