Atlanta, Georgia-based Future Technologies Venture and Nokia were awarded several multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts to bring private 5G network to the federal market.
The mission-critical information systems and technical support services provider said Tuesday the partnership will handle private 5G projects and offer end-to-end services, including Private 5G Core, Edge Compute/MEC and outdoor radio access networks.
Future Technologies and Nokia will use Lab Systems, Cell on Wheels and other network types to deliver 5G capabilities to customers. Lab Systems is intended for enabling advanced use case development and validation while Cell on Wheels is for seamless deployment and demonstrations.
Mike Loomis, general manager for Nokia’s federal division, cited the extensive partnership between the two forms spanning 14 years to propel the 5G landscape.
Loomis added that the collaboration will cater to federal clients’ needs for lab testing, validation, fielded demonstration, use case development and large-scale production deployments.
