AWS’ Liz Martin Discusses AI, Digital Twin & Emerging Tech in New Video Interview - top government contractors - best government contracting event

For the last few years, the technology landscape has been rapidly evolving, causing public and private sector leaders alike to embrace new technologies with agility, adaptability and speed.

Executive Mosaic sat down with Liz Martin, director of the DOD business at Amazon Web Services, to find out which technologies are steering innovation in the government contracting world and how they’re shaping the future of the sector.

“In addition to saving money and resources in time, we expect that virtually every application will be infused with AI and machine learning to help drive mission outcomes, lower costs, save valuable time and more,” Martin told Executive Mosaic in a new video interview.

Martin explained that to get the full benefits from AI/ML, it’s critical to have relevant, high quality data to inform the models, and organizations should create data management strategies to help improve the integrity, access and security of their data.

“Another area where we’re seeing increased interest from our defense and government customers is in digital twin and large scale simulations,” Martin revealed.

“While the concept of digital twins is not a new one and dates back to the early days of the space program, the cloud is making the technology much more accessible so all of our customers can build and run simulations at scale,” she added.

The cloud is also making quantum computing more accessible, Martin said, and as the technology advances, public sector leaders should consider adopting quantum.

“While still in its infancy, we believe that quantum computing has immense potential and is something we will continue to invest in as it becomes simpler for organizations to experiment with quantum computing. We encourage our public sector customers to explore what quantum can do for their mission,” said Martin.
