Verizon Eyes Public Safety Customers for Network Slicing Services; Maggie Hallbach Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Verizon is preparing to offer network slicing services using its standalone 5G core technology and is eyeing public safety as one of the areas to market such services, Light Reading reported Monday.

“We will be continuing to work with our public safety partners to innovate with them,” Maggie Hallbach, senior vice president of public sector and president of Verizon’s Frontline business, told the publication.

She noted that the company has no definite schedule for introducing network slicing for public safety consumers, but is preparing to offer such services.

Hallbach, a 2023 Wash100 awardee, added that one of the areas that could leverage the company’s network slices is drone communications, which require low-latency services and encrypted connections.
