Rick Wagner, president of Microsoft’s federal arm and a 2023 Wash100 awardee, said the company’s top priority is safeguarding the country from rapidly changing cyberthreats and that there are three basic aspects to the security approach of the company.
“One is secured-by-design foundations. The second is adopting a zero-trust architecture. And third, would be comprehensive end-to-end protection across our platforms,” Wagner told FedScoop in a podcast interview published Wednesday.
He discussed how the company tracks the global threat landscape through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms and data analytics and through its team of 8,500 security professionals.
Wagner cited the development of a multicloud management tool, called Azure Arc, and how it provides flexibility to federal agencies amid changing cloud requirements. He also highlighted the significance of acquisition reform to keep pace with new information technology capabilities in support of government missions.
