Fairbanks Morse Defense has introduced a program to help businesses and entrepreneurs further develop their emerging technologies with potential maritime defense applications.
Selected participants for the FM Defense Accelerator program will work with the defense contractor’s mentors from the Technology Center of Excellence and gain access to technical experts, a global service network and other resources, the company said Tuesday.
FMD has started accepting applications for the program, which will also provide participants with marketing support, brand exposure opportunities and market advice.
“The FM Defense Accelerator is open to eligible entrepreneurs with a great idea, a plan for bringing it to fruition, and an appetite to work with us and benefit from our expertise and relationship with the Navy, Coast Guard, and Military Sealift Command (MSC),” said FMD CEO George Whittier.
FMD is a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management and is focused on providing marine technologies, propulsion systems, original equipment manufacturer parts and turnkey services for naval forces, including the Navy and the Coast Guard.
