Simba Chain has received a $30 million strategic funding increase from the U.S. Air Force to develop blockchain tools for supply chain management applications.
The company said Tuesday the investment will be used to scale up the development of Simba Blocks enterprise platform for enabling customers to build and deploy blockchain applications.
As part of the initiative, Simba Chain will deliver blockchain technologies to help the U.S. Navy, Army, Defense Logistics Agency and other various defense organizations manage their supply chain assets.
Stacy Betlej-Amodeo, vice president of government operations at Simba Chain, said the South Bend, Indiana-headquartered company will build on its existing partnership with the Department of Defense to advance the adoption of blockchain technology across the enterprise.
“Through STRATFI our Government partners are sending a strong demand signal for blockchain technology. Given the interconnectedness of the DOD supply chain, it also signals an opportunity to collaborate and increase adoption within the commercial industry,” said Bryan Ritchie, CEO of SIMBA Chain.
