MongoDB Gains FedRAMP Certification for Managed Cloud Database Platform - top government contractors - best government contracting event

MongoDB‘s managed database offering has been certified under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program after the company demonstrated compliance with the government’s cloud security requirements and other standards.

Atlas for Government achieved FedRAMP Moderate certification and completed an independent audit of the platform’s adherence to the security policy set forth by the Criminal Justice Information Services, MongoDB said Wednesday.

The document database is designed to support cluster deployment in Amazon Web Services‘ U.S. East/West and GovCloud regions.

Sahir Azam, chief product officer of MongoDB, said more than 7,500 public sector organizations that use AWS can develop applications with the Atlas offering.

The database vendor incorporated security controls into the product for government customers to isolate networks, manage role-base access and encrypt data at rest or in transit.

“Together, AWS and MongoDB serve customers across a variety of industries who are transforming their operations using the power of cloud,” said Jeff Kratz, general manager of worldwide public sector partners at AWS.
