Oracle has selected consultancy firm Accenture to help train Department of Veterans Affairs clinicians on the Cerner-built electronic health record platform, FedScoop reported Tuesday.
Under the recently signed contract, Accenture will provide additional training to VA clinicians in support of the next rollout of the Cerner EHR system, according to Ken Glueck, executive vice president at Oracle.
“About three months ago, we did an assessment of the training and we decided that this was an area that needed accelerated investment,” Glueck said.
Accenture is part of the Leidos Partnership for Defense Health that manages the deployment of the Military Health System Genesis EHR system for the Department of Defense.
The group recently completed the installation of the Pentagon’s EHR system in 11 military treatment facilities across eight states, expanding its reach to additional 12,000 clinicians and providers.
