The U.S. Agency for International Development granted Tetra Tech $42 million in additional funding to its single-award contract to support the Republic of Moldova’s energy security goals.

The company said Thursday it originally received $17 million in 2022 to carry out the four-year contract under the USAID Moldova Energy Security Activity.

Under the terms of the contract, Tetra Tech will be involved in the development of Moldova’s National Energy and Climate Plan and Low Emission Development Strategy, which aligns the country’s electricity market with the European system.

The strategy includes guiding the government in the competitive acquisition of clean energy, and helping to secure investments in domestic power generation.

“Tetra Tech has supported USAID and local government partners to strengthen energy security in Europe and Eurasia for decades,” Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO Dan Batrack said. “We look forward to using our Leading with Science approach to advance a secure, sustainable energy sector that helps Moldovans power their lives more efficiently and affordably.”
