Serco Group’s North American subsidiary will provide the Department of Defense’s F-35 Joint Program Office with program management support services under a five-year, $152 million contract.
In a statement published Tuesday, Serco Inc. CEO Tom Watson welcomed the opportunity for the company to support the multirole fighter aircraft program and its office.
The single-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was awarded by Naval Air Systems Command in August and covers business operations management, research and analysis, system delivery and sustainment and other program management support throughout the F-35 acquisition life cycle.
“The delivery and sustainment of this next generation strike fighter and its cutting-edge technologies are relied on by the United States and our allies,” added Watson.
About 120 additional employees are eyed to join the Serco team by year one of the contract, with the workforce potentially growing to almost 200 by year two. Work will be performed in Virginia, Ohio, Texas and other continental U.S. locations.
