Sabre Systems will research, develop, evaluate and field advanced radio frequency platforms under a phase three Small Business Innovative Research award from the Air Force Research Laboratory.
The company said the contract is worth $73.5 million over a five-year period and covers efforts to ensure the manufacturability and capability of a high-frequency antenna system Sabre previously designed, constructed and demonstrated.
The small, rugged and transportable technology is envisioned to provide advanced communications, covering a large bandwidth for transmission and reception.
The third leg of Sabre’s work will center on the further development of the family of portable antennas and its advanced electronic aircraft couplers to support the U.S. Air Force’s wideband HF operations in all environments.
