The Defense Information Systems Agency has cleared the automated benchmark for a security technical implementation guide that provides cybersecurity requirements for Microsoft’s Windows Server.

A notice posted Friday on the DOD Cyber Exchange said the benchmark is effective immediately upon release and available for Department of Defense personnel with a common access card.

The Windows Server 2022 STIG outlines configuration guidance for domain controllers, member servers and standalone systems, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Users can utilize the guide in conjunction with other applicable STIGs on topics such as domain name service, active directory forests and active directory domain.

The cybersecurity requirements were developed by DOD Consensus and Windows security guidance from Microsoft.
