ThunderCat Technology, a reseller of information technology platforms and services to the government sector, will distribute Palo Alto Networks’ internet operations management offerings to the Department of Defense.

The multi-year deal covers artificial intelligence-driven products, including attack surface management technology Cortex Xpanse designed to enable users to identify and mitigate cyber attack surface risks, Palo Alto Networks said Wednesday.

Cortex Xpanse works to provide continuous monitoring of internet-connected assets, including cloud environments, to discover vulnerabilities of the digital attack surface.

“By providing centralized visibility and situational awareness over its entire global network, we will help the U.S. Department of Defense fulfill its mission of ensuring our nation’s security,” said Nikesh Arora, chairman and CEO of Palo Alto Networks.

During the first quarter of Palo Alto’s fiscal year 2023, it secured an initial $67 million purchase order for the first three years of the deal.

Justin Robinson, cyber chief technology officer at ThunderCat Technology, remarked that the partnership will enable the company to help the Pentagon defend against the constantly changing threat landscape.
