Science Applications International Corp. has received a potential $757 million contract from the U.S. Army for services in support of its enterprise service desk function.
As tasked by the single-award contract, SAIC will provide software development and management services to the service branch, the Reston, Virginia-based company said Monday.
Bob Genter, president of SAIC’s defense and civilian sector, welcomed the opportunity for the contractor to support the Army in modernizing its enterprise management platform.
“SAIC’s proven capabilities in cloud migration, software engineering and [information technology] managed services provide solutions that align with the Army Enterprise Service Management Framework and will enhance IT service delivery across the Army,” Genter emphasized.
Services covered by the contract include continuing current AESD operations, enhancing the Army Enterprise Service Management Framework’s delivery processes and expanding the range of optional capabilities offered by the software as a service environment to extend its functionality. SAIC will also migrate the department’s legacy IT service management systems to a modern platform using ServiceNow.
In addition, the company will deliver service desk technologies to support the improvement of a range of voice, messaging, video teleconferencing, computing, network infrastructure, customer support and information assurance services.
Aside from the Army, SAIC is also working with the Navy on its IT platforms. The company was awarded a potential $163 million contract in August for the delivery of design, development, modernization, sustainment, lifecycle and integration support to naval enterprise networks.
