The U.S. Navy has started soliciting input from industry stakeholders to assess whether to hold an on-ramp process for a potential 10-year, $982.1 million multiple-award contract to provide support services for the military branch’s unmanned surface vehicle family of systems.
Naval Sea Systems Command issued a request for information to gauge industry interest in a potential on-ramp solicitation for the USV FoS indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded in 2020, according to a notice published Nov. 21.
In February 2020, the Navy awarded 40 companies positions on the IDIQ contract, which has a base period of five years and five option years.
Delivery and task orders that have been placed under the contract include design and integration studies, payload development and integration activities and combat systems ship integration efforts.
The contract vehicle has six functional areas: payloads; non-payload sensors; mission support systems; autonomy and vehicle control systems; ashore and host platform elements; and logistics and sustainment.
Responses to the RFI are due Dec. 19.
