Accenture's Nilanjan Sengupta on How Federal Agencies Can Prepare for Quantum-Powered AI - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Nilanjan Sengupta, chief technology officer of the applied intelligence practice at Accenture Federal Services, believes the integration of quantum computing and artificial intelligence platforms has the potential to help agencies make sense of large and complex datasets.

He wrote in a blog post published Friday that quantum technology can act as an “accelerator for AI” when it comes to data storage and analysis processes.

The AFS executive cited optimization, sampling and machine learning as three categories of key data challenges that a hybrid technology stack may help address.

Sengupta offered three steps for agencies to prepare for the adoption of a quantum-powered AI system.

He said federal organizations should embark on efforts to identify possible use cases for the hybrid future, develop a roadmap for such computing innovation and experiment with quantum methods on multiple cloud platforms.

“For federal agencies with complex and large-scale logistics, quantum can enable a new level of insights and capabilities. Quantum’s ability to compute simultaneously means it can more efficiently tackle these types of problems.”
