Rikki Singh: McKinsey Seeks to Train Product Managers Through New Program - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Rikki Singh, an associate partner at McKinsey & Co., said the management consulting firm launched a program in May to train and upskill product managers through an eight-part speaker series featuring product leaders.

She said there will be 3 to 5 million new program managers worldwide by 2025 and the company believes upskilling and empowering these PMs through the McKinsey Product Academy Fundamentals Program will be key as their organizations undergo software transformation initiatives.

We conducted research with more than 400 companies and found that product management is key to driving successful business impact of software investments,” Singh said.

What we’re also seeing is the rise of product roles even in non-software or non-traditional tech companies,” she added.

Singh noted that some of the topics that the speaker series will cover are product strategy, platform building, customer advocacy and responsible product management.

Through the speaker series, she said McKinsey intends to establish a “community of engaged product managers” by collecting feedback and developing future programs in support of the community.
